Carol's Story

Carol had been unemployed since 2008 as she was caring for her late husband. During her time, her motivation dipped as she became unsure where her future was heading. She doubted her ability to find employment due to her lack of confidence.

Carol was referred to ITEC Newport for the Flexible New Deal, Where she found work through a work placement with a discount store. They were delighted with Carol's enthusiasm and commitment to her job. They subsequently went on to employ Carol as the Store Cleaner. The Store Manager said, "We love her; not only is she attentive to her work but she is willing to help in any way. Success beams from her face and nothing is too much trouble. Our team here take pleasure in working with Carol."

Carol commented, "This has made such a difference to my life. I just wanted to get a job and I've started to believe in myself because ITEC believed in me. My employers said they are pleased with my work. My manager says that I make a real difference to the shop. It's given me my smile back."
