Fast-expanding South Wales-based ITEC Training has boosted its senior management team with the appointment of two new operations managers.

Amanda Williams and Richard Elliott will play key roles as the company embarks on a new three-year £10.7 million Welsh Government contract which will more than double its training output.

Richard Elliott joins ITEC from international service outsourcing specialists Serco, where he was contracts manager responsible for the performance of companies working on the UK government’s Flexible New Deal scheme, aimed at helping the long-term unemployed into sustainable jobs. His primary focus at ITEC will be on apprenticeships.

He formerly held business, performance, contract and operations managerial roles in Wales with Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment, NUSTAFF Recruitment and job-seekers support organisation Working Links.

Amanda Williams, who will oversee ITEC’s skills and employability services, has also been heavily involved in the Flexible New Deal programme, as former manager of ITEC’s FND centre in Newport.

For 13 years previously she was a manager firstly with Dash Training, responsible for the delivery of Department of Work & Pensions New Deal contracts in the Rhondda Cynon Taff, Bridgend, Neath and Port Talbot districts and then managing a similar £3 million contract for providers A4E.

Ceri Murphy, ITEC joint managing director, said "ITEC is entering a new phase in its development and Amanda and Richard’s experience will be invaluable in sustaining our success."
