How much will it cost me?

A:  ITEC’s services are funded. There will either
be no cost or a very minimal cost.

What is my role as the employer?

A: To provide a safe workplace/environment that will allow the learner/client to gain experience, confidence and motivation and help them to develop the skills required to gain employment.

Will there be any disruption to the business?

A:  At ITEC we strive to deliver our training and qualifications with minimal disruption and always in an agreed method with your
business.

Am I obligated to employ a learner/client after they have completed a placement?

A: No, there is no obligation, however if you have an available vacancy and the learner/client meets the criteria we would hope you would consider him/her.

What are the benefits to the learner/client?

A: It is an opportunity for the learner to gain transferrable skills within their preferred occupational route. The learner/client can also gain valuable skills in motivation, confidence, attitude, behaviour and while on placement, the learner/client will also receive a training & travel allowance.

How are the learners/clients matched to my business?

A: Our Stakeholder engagement officers work closely with the learner/client and their tutor while in the training centre carefully matching their skills to the vacancy or placement you have available.

What hours can the learner/client work?

A: The learner/client must complete 30 hours per week. If the learner/client is with the employer for less than that they must make up the difference at the centre. Above 30 hours would need to be agreed between learner/client and employer.

What does the Health and Safety Vetting process involve, and why is it necessary?

A: While on work placement but not employed the health & safety of the learner is the responsibility of ITEC

Can you offer NVQs and Essential Skills Qualifications to other staff members?

A: Yes we can. We can up-skill your entire employer base within ITECs delivery routes

How often will you need to visit the learner/client whilst in the workplace?

A: A minimum of one monthly visit to monitor and support the learner/client.
