Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships include the following basic elements:

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) are nationally recognised qualifications. They are generally suitable for people who are employed or on placement for over 16 hours a week but who want to increase their qualifications. NVQ’s show your employer that you have reached a certain level of ability within a particular job and can be used on their own or as part of a programme leading to an Apprenticeship. NVQ’s are taken in the workplace which means that we come to you and you don’t have to attend college

Key Skill qualifications, e.g. improve own learning, working in teams, problem-solving, communication, application of number and ICT

A technical certificate
 
And possibly other qualifications or requirements as specified by the particular occupation
